Many of you will already know me as the “old Man at Con-Way”, I was a dispatcher and recruiter for them for over 8 years, right up to the time that they sold out.

As most of you might not know is that I am a Viet Nam Veteran, and drove over-the-road motor coaches for 25 years, after that my wife and I bought our own Expediter and went to work for Roberts Express, and then Con-Way Now. 

Then after a small battle, that I lost, with my wife, we sold the truck and I went to work in the office for Con-Way as a driver line coordinator.  As I was the only one in the office that had actually been on the road for a living, I had the insight to deal with driver problems and concerns.

At first when the administration approached me with being a recruiter, I resisted, due to being lied to by other recruiters.  I did not want to carry that stereotype with me.  But over the years as a recruiter, I made believers out of the company that you really can get drivers and owner-operators without having to ‘blow a lot of smoke’ at them.

I did earn the reputation of being truthful, and will carry that on in my own business.  When you call me you should be prepared to hear the truth.
