OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:

• Richard Gassman of Dubuque, IA, has been recognized for 53 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls clothing.
• Jimmy H. Ardis of Sumter, SC, has been recognized for 35 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls refrigerated freight.
• Richard R. Spears of Decatur, TX, has been recognized for 31 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently drives hot shot, hauling drill pipes and collars in the oil field.
• Richard A. Tilley of Pasadena, TX, has been recognized for 28 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls cleaning chemicals and waste.
• Jack J. Eberly of Stryker, OH, has been recognized for 19 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently pulls a flatbed hauling lumber and sheet metal.
• Chuck Hutton of Piqua, OH, has been recognized for 19 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls general freight.
• William H. Newlin of Winchester, VA, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls sand.
• Michael E. Zanella of Columbus, OH, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls freight of all kinds.
• Rodney A. Monson of Berlin, WI, has been recognized for six years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently pulls a flatbed hauling machinery and building materials.
• Lee C. York of Grover Hill, OH, has been recognized for four years of safe, accident-free driving.
• Donald B. Peachey of Belleville, PA, has been recognized for one year of safe, accident-free driving. He currently pulls a pneumatic tanker hauling sand.
• Lee M. Sadler of Scio, NY, has been recognized for one year of safe, accident-free driving. He currently pulls a pneumatic tanker hauling sand.

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
