Rapid City: Box Elder Police are investigating a bomb threat at the Flying J Travel Plaza at Interstate 90 Exit 61.
Detective Jason Dubbs said police got a call about 9 p.m. Thursday of a possible bomb at the Flying J. The caller reported overhearing a suspicious conversation by two men at a downtown Rapid City business. The caller said the men were talking about a bomb under a semitrailer parked at the Flying J that was to detonate in 20 minutes.
The men then left the business.
Police were unable to locate the men the caller said had the conversation about the bomb.
Dubbs said the Flying J was evacuated while Box Elder police, Pennington County Sheriff's deputies and the South Dakota Highway Patrol searched the area. Dubbs said no explosive device or other potential hazard was found, and business was back to normal after about an hour.
