Please help me out. I am successful uploading the pic but when i get to the page to add to album, i click continue and there is a box that "critical error" at the top. In the box, it says "there was an error processing the database query". The file size is only 112kb and its a .jpg. I sent some to Arky and he had trouble too before finally getting them to work. I sent them to him as .jpg's but when he received them they were .bmp's. Anybody with a fix?

just to back up what zing is saying. When he sent me the pics, they were bmp's I saved them as jpg and then they downloaded to the gallery just as they were supposed to.

I have no idea of how they are being changed to bmp files when he has them saved as jpg...can anyone explain this?

Sounds like there might be some kind of permission code imbedded into the pictures that only lets the pictures be sent as BMP. Try using a photo editing program to copy the picture into another, and then save that image as a JPEG.

Take a photo of something, like a street shot. Open the pics Zing sent you, and "select" or "Cut" 99.9% of the pic into your clipboard. Then, open the street shot pic, and "Paste" the stored image from the clipboard to the street shot. Then, save the ending result as a whole new picture, with a JPEG extension on it.

This is just a wild guess on my part.

Jimbo, I didn't have any problem saving his pics as jpeg files. Somehow when zing sends them out, they are getting converted to bmp. There wasn't a problem with them once I downloaded and saved them as jpeg.

I'm thinking that there must be setting on his computer that is converting them to bmp...something like what you said.

Hmmm.... I'm thinking that you (Zing-1) must have a program as your default e-mail program, that either only sends out BitMaps, or you have the settings of that program to send out only BitMaps.

If you're using AOL, or something like that, check out all the settings you have on that program. Make sure you have the checkboxes checked for all types of picture formats.

Try opening a picture with your "Paint" program. while it's open, change something, like put a little text on it, or draw a few lines on it, so you can recognize it later. Then, go to the upper left, and hit "File", and pick "save as" from your choices. Make sure the location box says "Desktop", so you can find the picture easy, and then give it a name, and then pick "JPEG" or JPG" from the choices of type of file, and then save it.

After you save it that way, go to your desktop and right-click on the file. Choose "Properties" from the list, and see what the files is saved as. If it's still a JPEG, then you know at least your operating system is behaving itself. In that case, the problem must be with your E-mail program.

I'm really grabbing at thin air here, since I have never had a problem like this. If you do figure out the problem, make sure you let us all know.

OK, I THOUGHT IT WAS MY CELL PHONE CONNECTION BUT NOW IM HOME ON DSL AND I STILL GET THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE.

QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING FANCY IN THE "FILE DESCRIPTION" BOX?

I JUST CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. MY UPLOAD IS SUCCESSFUL BUT THEN WHEN I GET TO THE PAGE TO ADD TO ALBUM, I GET MSG

04-25-2005, 12:26 AM
OK I FOUND SOMETHING WEIRD. THE FILE I AM TRYING TO ADD IS 79.8 KB BUT AFTER I UPLOAD IT AND ITS IN THE CORNER ON MY ADD TO ALBUM SCREEN, I RIGHT CLICK ON IT AND GO TO PROPERTIES AND ITS NOW 6010KB.....HOW IS IT DOING THAT AND IS THIS WHAT IS GIVING ME MY ERROR MSG?

zing, I just checked one of my trucks and basicly found the same thing. It is 22KB in size on my pc, but when I get it downloaded and in the window you refer to, it shows up to be something like 4250 bytes. I didn't try, but I'm sure it would have downloaded as it is the same pic that I have on there already.

Sounds like your getting closer...if you were still here we could give it another try.

zing, I just went and downloaded that same pic again except this time I went ahead and posted it to the album. I didn't have to enter anything as far as description. I just clicked continue.

Now...can someone help me get it out of the album? It is a duplicate of one of the pics already there. I don't see any way to delete a pic once you have posted it.
