I am not a trucker, but we prepare 2290's for heavy vehicle owners and fleets.

I would love to hear the experiences you all had with eFile.

Also, if you would not eFile, why?

And if you are willing, where do truckers look to find a service like eFile for their 2290?

The basics are, an IOO or small fleet can eFile for $40 by answering a few questions on the web and submitting. You get your Stamped Sched 1 back in minutes on your computer.

I am happy that you are taking an active part on our site. We are all in need of your knowledge, and most drivers and owners out here are now computer literate, the possibilities are unlimited.

Again, welcome.

I know I don't pay this tax because my trucks are all under the 50 000 limit.

Are there some Expediters over this Limit?

The truck I had -- had to do the 2290. I just went down to the IRS office downtown in the federal building -- gave her the form-- gave her my check-- she gave me schedule 1 back and I was done. I would imagine that this would be harder with more then 5 trucks or so because the lady might not want to do it all in the same day with all the trucks.
