canada border crossing- my driver was fined with $5000 . The got a new rule there . Don't leave the shipper without the complete paperwork. Do not go for any promises, like "we will fax it to the customes ". you need the sticker from the shipper on your paper work. (Barcoded invoice)
I don't know the whole story right now. FEDEX is looking into it because it happend to more drivers. I will keep you updated . For now my drivers do not take any canada runs until we know more. :unibrow: :unibrow: :unibrow:

I have had a few run-ins with customs myself. I decided that I would not do any Canadian loads unless they were paying a fortune. I once told a broker that I wanted $2.50 a mile, plus $50 an hour for time spent in customs to go into Canada. Needless to say I didn't do much Canadian work. One day, a buddy of mine saw me in the Ford plant in Windsor, Ont. He said " I thought you didn't do Canada". I showed the paperwork, showing that I made $300 in 4 hours of working, and replied "...if you see my truck in Canada, rest assured that I am making a ton of money being there". Most of my bad experiences with customs have been on the U.S. side, when coming back into the country. The people on the Canadian side move a little slow, but treat you OK.

EXACTLY !!! While they are harrassing truckers at the border crossing, the true terrorists can simply walk across the border into North Dakota, where the border is guarded by what amounts to a chicken wire fence.
