Wel I turned in my C-LINK to the Palace in Green, and of course I was told I couldn't sleep there, And I helped pay for the resurfacing of the lot. But anyhow, my CC took me to breakfast, cuz I'm actually a nice guy, and it was good. Then I bobtailed to Cudahay, WI for the orientation at RDFS, and it looks like a Fedex Freight terminal. The 1st day went well, and they have great incentives, like the more loads ya haul per year with no preventable accidents, you can earn up to $8k xtra bonus PERIOD!!! Ya do not have yer name picked out of a hat, every owner/op gets it. the more loads ya run, the more the bonus. They have a deal on health ins., and I think its worth it for ya guys to at least hear them out. So anyways, the next day I had to go do the wiz quiz and the physical, I passed all the stuff except the sugar test. I pissed a 2000 and then they did a blood check and it was 296bsl, an onset of diabetes and I failed. WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!!! Sooooo, I had to bobtail back home to get the level down, but they still want me to lease on with them, so I have all the stuff and the signs. By the way, If you want yer own color signs, you can get yer own, and you can park at their terminals overnight....So I felt that it was my DUTY to let ya all know, like some of ya already don't know, that ya gots to take care of yerselves. I was lucky in a sense to find out with a 296 blood sugar level, I know guys who had 500's-800's and went into a coma. I'd hate to see anyone go thru what I am going thru....it sucks. I was to start this week so I could pay my bill's and now I'm screwed. At this rate of such LUCK, me and the wife and the 7 cats will be living in the truck b4 too long......http://www.expediterworld.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10066/thumb_PIC_0004.JPG

Hey Dan you didn't by any chance just eat before the tests did you?
If so that causes the sugar counts to go way up and are not an accurate
test.
Jeez 7 cats, the 2 we have drive me nuts.......

why yes, they had donuts in the orientation room, in fact I ate 6 glazed....and according to the tester, it wouldn't have mattered if I ate 12. Thats ok, my new strict diet has brought my sugar down and my mother sent me that blood checking machine, it should arrive on monday...

The tester had his/her head up their ass, eating before a sugar test
alway's skews the results way upward, you should have booted them
in the ass for being an ignorant asshole.
Only reason i know this is because I did the same thing then my doctor
asked if I just ate within the past hour or so and I told him yes, stopped
at the mickey D's just before strolling into the doctor's office, he told me
that that messes up the test giving false high readings.
So next time wait till after the test to indulge in the donuts......

Well I think I'm screwed, I've been on this no sugar diet for a week and tested my blood after fasting over night and it was still a 226. Then 2 day I tested it after dinner and it was a 256 then just to be certain, I had a piece of chocolate pudding pie and then tested again and it was 356, which tells me that I'm not producing insulin. I've had a headache all week, and get dizzy when I stand up, or sit up. I'm waiting on my settlement from fdcc so I can go to a doctor. I may have to sell my new truck, if insulin is my problem....Life is sucking everyday....

I'm a HUGE fan of the Adkins diet- First off I love Meat, Cheese and Eggs.....
but one thing you have to remember is to drink LOTS of water while on the Adkins... you burn off major keytones witch can be harmful to the kidneys... and can also be mistaken for Ketoacidosis which is a Diabetic condition......
When I pee for my DOT physical they usually find trace amounts of protiens.... which they don't like to see.... they never told me what the signifigance was of protiens in your pee.... so they must not have been that worried about it.

Dan, Just give your body some time to adjust to the treatment that works best for you. There are thousands of type II diabetics driving trucks on the road today. The important thing is to find a good endrochronologist (sorry not even spell checker could help me on this word!) that specializes in the treatment of diabetes. Keep your spirits up and take care of yourself!! Your in our thoughts and prayers.
