It`s way to soon to judge.
Many customers are under contracts that must expire before the new tariffs go into effect.

Not to be a downer but how can you be so sure that they won't get an even larger discount on their new contracts?

We are newbies in this business. I always compare what we are doing for the month to last year's same month. Aug. was good. Sept was down and Oct is way down. I look at the number of runs and how many days we were in service. I thought when we went White Glove in April, it would get better. We were very wrong. Now, we have heard another tidbit from a White Glove Driver with Top Clearance. He said we will no longer be hauling ANY explosives even though we applied for our DOD Clearance last spring. Those loads are only going to the TOP White Glove Drivers. Well, Miss on You Pister. If anyone knows anymore about this, please tell us. I called my CC and she acted like she never heard of such. However, we were hauling explosives right and left and after we talked to this guy in the middle of Sept, we haven't had another load offer until yesterday and we accepted it. Sure enough.......it CANCELLED!!!! Isn't that weird????!!! BS!!! Those do not cancel; another truck got it. Why in the world would they ask everyone to apply for something they can't get????? If you appy, then you can haul Radioactive that is paying like crap. And dealing with the Nuke Plants is unreal. Was that what it was all about? Do any of you know the truth behind all this?? There are some people on here that aren't afraid of telling it like it really is. I hope one of you know what is really going on. Thanks for listening.
Kini lu, you have a private message.
Questions, Questions..............Fed Ex, I hope you're listening to your people about this! I've not spoken with ANYONE who's happy.
While we have to be careful about he said, she said, it would be nice if we could feel like someone from corporate would give us the HONEST answers that we seekl
One example: Have friend who ran 2 loads AFTER the FSC change that they'd run BEFORE the change. One was 491.00 CHEAPER and the other was 220.00 CHEAPER than when they ran those EXACT SAME RUNS!!!!
Fed Ex.............WHERE IS THAT MONEY??? It's far too much to be just a difference in the FSC. At this rate, Fed Ex can make MILLIONS annually while the drivers and o/o suffer.
WHAT GIVES? FED EX, TALK TO US!!!!!

History shows most customers accept the new contracts. Case in point. When Fuel Sur Charges were first introduced, many customers would not pay because of their existing contracts new contract time most accepted the FSC rather than go to full tariff.
So Hardrive, I'm wondering how you're doing with this new FSC program? Are you too suffering many low-paying run offers?

The FSC Program is not a great thing in my book and It will hurt in the long run. FedEx will lose alot of great owner's because of it and they will move on to another company and help make them bigger. When we don't have the trucks to cover loads because we have lost trucks, the customer is not going to call us the next time they have a hot shipment.
I hope that they take a good look at what they are doing. This FSC Program is not a win/win for its owner's or the company in the long run.

VERY well said David. How many times have you heard (or read in the "On Times") how important it is to "service the customer"? If we don't "help out" on this run then the customer may use another company for their freight and then use them again in the future.
It has been said MANY times before, if FDCC is going to give a discount to some of the LARGEST companies in the US, FDCC needs to be the one to suffer the lost revenue. NOT THE O/O, WHO RECEIVES NO DISCOUNTS FOR ANY OF THE SERVICES THEY REQUIRE!!!
The new contract was "forced" down the O/O throats, so to speak. It was an "or else" type of thing to people who had very little time and information to make an informed decision. How do you think those LARGE companies would feel if they were called tomorrow and told that the old contract had been "revised" and this is the new ammendment to the contract, SIGN IT OR ELSE?? Isn't it only fair to do the same thing to the stockholders of those large companies that FDCC felt SO comfortable doing to it's O/O??
Think about what a friend pointed out to me recently. If FDCC makes just $100.00 on a run on the FSC, times 600 trucks, times 6 days a week, times 365 days a year. MILLIONS of dollars will be going in THEIR pockets, instead of in the pockets of the O/O where it belongs. The very people that are paying for the fuel
Can someone tell me why that if we are now suppose to be a "team" with the other FedEx divisions that we can't get in on the fuel discounts that they are provided??

I am going to try and say this gently again!
Word as always been that FDCC O/O are the highest paid and FDCC rates are higher than anyones in the business. Now that being said, it just maybe FDCC and their operators are now another victim of the economy. The creation of that new Express freight division seems to bring credit to the above statement....FDCC needs to compete and thus......I am afraid you guys are looking at a dim future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I was chided for this post back then...NOW couple this with the new FSC and where are we? hmmmmmm
The FDEX average for vans is about or was $1.20 a mile where all others was around .95- $1.00/ mile.
I am just comparing NOT bashing!
It's looking like a thinning of the herd and only the strong will survive.
I wish you all the best in your struggle with Fedex on these issues!
