After having read about stopping in WY on your way in or out, I'm curious to know how many of you stop there to show your paperwork on your way through?? If I'm understanding what I'm reading right, you have to stop on your way through at the first port of entry to show them what you are carrying. Has anyone else ever heard of this or is it just more BBR jive??
In all the years we have been out here we have never stopped or been stopped in WY. Of course now that I've said that, I'm sure we'll get pulled for a level 1 the next time through.

Seems like most of those western states have a "port of entry" but
I don't believe stopping on your own is required.
They do like to hit you up for various fees and permits, it's been a
while since I've been out west but it seems like they hassle "C" trucks
more than others, we got invited in 5 times on one trip thru Colorado
and back last year.

Hmmm, never heard of that... I've never had to stop and show anything going through Wyoming.... Now some places like New Mexico have a Credentials check point where you must show the proper Permit....
BTW, looks like we missed you in the chat room...

It's been my experience that many western statescheck the smaller trucks harder. Especially Wy, Ut, Co, NM, Az & Nv.
Since we run without apportioned tags & IFTA, they really go thru the paperwork. I've had more level 1's done in Wy than any other state.

We have always stopped on entry to wy ,they weigh then check paper work never been hasseled and treat it like any weigh station they have prepass at some sites and have been greened everytime after stopping at first entry.I would not run a weigh station in any state and wonder what the consequences would be if stopped in wy or other western state and found not to have stopped at port of entry. When driving semi in past we always stopped or faced fines.
side note was stopped in Tenn. for going by weigh station told officer we were prepassed he responded ok just checking, also was stopped in Tx on 59 by a local constable, doing 43 in a 45, they wanted to see cdl, paperwork and if I ran that area often and was it a good paying load? Be careful of speeding on 59 in Tx they watch and fine a lot for speeding ,seen 6 trucks stopped on last trip I avoid it if possible. Take care out there!! :bye:
