What's with the rate offers here today, 3 offers, highest one was 1.04
a mile and with the real mileage almost always longer probably a
sub dollar a mile run.
Fuel is running 2.59 a gallon up here and they are offering rates like
it's a buck a gallon.
Last offer included DH of 278 miles but even if you were right there
it would have only been for 1.29 a mile.
These discount rates are ridiculous.

Well make that 4 lowball offers today another one for 1.04 a mile.......
Wonder who is taking this crap, haven't had them come back with
a decent counter offer on any of them.

make it 5 lowball offers and no response to my counter offers today.
funny thing is that the vru dispatch counts have not gone up but the number
of trucks in the dearborn and detroit express centers has gone down.

We feel your pain. I think almost everyone does. This is not what we expected at the end of the year. Our hopes and expectations on a few things are totally gone. We were trying to do better than last year. Fat chance of that happeining now. We had alot of truck problems last year with a brand new truck and thought our bad luck was behind us. Had no idea what FECC had in store for the hottest time of the year. Just so sad.

I ended up turning down 7 crap offers that day, took two, one
that got cancelled by a phone call at 4:30am (gee thanks) and
the one I had monday morring almost escaped from the heavyweight
ramp on someone else's truck before I caught up with them and
had them put it on mine, rest of this week has consisted of small runs
paying marginally ok to crappy but at least I've stayed within the
home state and only been out one night.
Revenue numbers for the month of October are embarrassingly low, as
I've accomplished in one week before what it took me three weeks to
do this month.
I pitty anyone running into major repair bills during this cash drought,
would be enough to make you want to drive off a bridge or stand on
a block of ice with a rope around your neck in a warm climate.....
