I am currently in a lawsuit with Knoxville Freightliner's shop for doing unnecessary work on our old FLD120 for 3 head's and 6 injector's that my old truck motor didn't need, cause the computer and harness that controlled the injector's were bad from the beginning, but there so-called cummins tech's couldn't pick up on that.....another "bad" shop is up there in Youngstown, OH, They charged me xtra labor on an oil change and almost got away with it till the wife caught it. And the worst place to get yer Frtlnr body work done is......Commerce, GA, this place billed our for new parts and all they did was try to repair the old one's and we didn't make it a week after they were done without having the work they done fall off the truck and the paint pealing off and the chrome bumper pealing, needless to say, our insurance let them slide on it and LV Frtlnr Body Shop changed all the parts and wrote up a report on GA and they were forced to pay for there incompetence....and the truck looked great till that May 19,2006 wreck in MO.....
The best frtlnr shops that I know of is SLC, UT on 2100 South and Las Vegas, NV, and Tulsa,OK, they've never tried to rip me off and even gave me mega break's on the fee's for being an owner/op.....
Also, if ya have a Cummins motor in yer truck and ya break down or need work in Knoxville,TN, take it to I think its InterMtn Cummin's off Cherry St., they are over by the KW dealer, off I40 on the E side of Knoxville, they will do you right, and you can tell them Dan & Melissa sent ya....

I have some trouble with Freightliner of Knoxville as well. I know for sure , after that shopmanager was so nice to me on the phone, that they will see none of my trucks anymore.
They can't even repair an A/C, but that is another story for later.

I've never had any service work done at FL of Knox, but have and continue to buy parts there as their FL parts prices are low. For instance their price for the A/C condenser for my truck was nearly $100 cheaper than the price my FL dealer in Buffalo quoted me. I've priced used expediter trucks there and IMHO their prices are WAY off base...
I was very pleased with Freightliner of Atlanta's Commerce, GA shop for emergency repair work done to my tranny's range finder valve. The price was fair and the work completed very quickly, and I thought they treated me well in a time of need rather than the typical taking advantage of a trucker in need. The body shop could be a whole different scenario, which makes this whole topic and forum confusing. Where one person might have a good experience at a given shop, another had a terrible one, making it hard to honestly judge a service place in a fair manner.

Body shop @ FL of Knox- not good. Had to replace left door of my FL-70 due to a big truck backing into me @ the Love's in Danridge. Kept the trk for a week, mirror strut, which was damaged, was just straightened out, but charged for a new one. Other trks insurance paid for repairs, but still not right. Also, door would not shut w/o slamming real hard (harder than normal, even for a FL). Agree about the FL in Tulsa, alternator went out on my last truck. I was under load and in a hurry. Explained that to svc mgr and was out of there in abt 1 1/2 hrs. Not bad I thought. Will never take my trk to FL in Commerce, GA. My trk was under warranty and ABS lt lit up and stayed that way. Took it in, they said it was loose and charged me $79 to tighten it. When i questioned them, they said warranty only covers def parts. Sensor was not def, just loose, s00000. Seemed like a ripoff for about 15mins work. Best FL shop in my opinion is Montgomery, AL. Been doing bus there for 10+ yrs and have built a rapport w/them. They klnow my trk and I trust them. If I do have a problem, it is fixed.

Stay away from the Freightliner shop in LA, at Fontana. We needed work done with the autoshift that left us sitting all the time and their anwser was to put in a new clutch at the tune of 2500/.
Got back east and it left us stuck again. called them to ask for a refund or even a partial refund and they got very angry and abusive.
Needless to say we will never never go there again
