Saturday night just short of Toledo at a rest area a chap about 35ish pulled in cussin and all...he'd spent a week on Lexington KY..he's a framer going home to Detroit area...his pick up wouldn't get over 40mph he was out of smokes and his wife wasn't home to come get him...So I says wazzs up? I analize the scenerio ..alsmost no exhaust hot floor boards and the odd backfire...I had this before plugged Catylitic convertor...he had his tool box I asked if he had a cordless screwdriver Yup he did...I said drill a couple holes in the cat and see what happens...he did and I followed him to the next exit at about 65mph he was sooo happy to get home to his wifey and kids..I tossed him a pack of smokes and a cold soda...I thought he was going to choke up!!! He said now thats America...people helping people. I didn't have the heart to tell him I as Canadian.....

NEXT...In Pa at the J on 81 e219 an old couple was gassing up beside me and I notice antifreeze pooling nder the car..I pointed it out the the older chap about 70ish and he popped the hood...he semed to know something about cars and we noticed the overflow hose had come off the clamp wasn't tighten....so I got out the trusty vise grips and did the deed!!!

I gots a handshake and hug from his wife...a granny hug! Almost made me tear up!!! :D

It doesn't matter what country we are from. Everyone needs to stop & help where it is needed. Good for you Ken.

Ken, That's what America used to be like through the 50's and into the 60's and in rural areas...still more recent...
And that's also the way you folks in Canada have been.
I haven't forgotten the kindness of your home land when our planes were turned around.... and there have been other occasions that Canada has stood with us or at least shown tolerance to her neighbors inthe south. Such national expression comes from the collective of similar expression by individuals, such as yourself.

 You made his day....and your goodness made yours

Its just plain old caring for another person and doin what ya can..It didn't cost me anything really except "time" we've gotta slow down this crazy world and start takin care of ourselves or we'll run outta "time" or there will be no human left in humanity.
